My first few listens to the new Kate Bush record washed over me with little impact.

So I put track one on repeat, turned it up, and five listens later it started to inhabit me.

Twenty listens later, I’m embracing it like an old familiar friend.

When we first create, especially in a new medium, we’re strangers to our work, strangers to our creative voices.

It’s only by repeated listening for these voices that we find them, hone them, embrace them, and adore them.
