During daily yoga practice, rather than race through positions one after the other, I often pause for three breaths between sequences.
This subtle, tiny pocket of rest allows me to re-centre, absorb what I’ve just completed, then move on to the next position with greater focus and readiness.
Then the cycle repeats – engage, focus, disengage, rest.
Similarly in our creative lives, if we’re constantly on the go, we lose the ability to focus, appreciate, and create at our best.
Engage, focus, disengage, rest.
Are any parts of this cycle lacking in your creative practices?
