A grandfather clock’s pendulum swings continuously from side to side, knowing the limits of its arc – the tick and the tock.
There may be only inches between its fullest extent in both directions, but within that short distance it maintains a constant, fluid, almost unstoppable rhythm and motion.

Having no limits usually means not creative freedom, but a scattershot, diluted, unfocused and unsatisfying creative life.
