Scanning some black and white negatives on my new film scanner, I forgot to change the setting after the previous batch of colour negatives.
Instead of being pure black and white, the images came out slightly sepia in colour.
Which actually, in my view, gave them more depth and atmosphere.
What seemed like a mistake at first, was just an experiment (albeit an unintentional one), that led to an interesting new series of images I wouldn’t have got if I had scanned them “correctly”.
What “mistakes” have you made that you could reframe as experiments?
