For most of us artists, there are three essential phases of creativity.
Gathering – of ideas, materials, inspiration, collaborators.
Creating – the actual making of the artwork.
Contemplating – reflecting on finished work, its triumphs, its lessons.
Then we start the cycle again.
If we ignore any one of these phases, our work probably won’t be as rewarding, fulfilling, or as authentically “us” at it could be.
